Becoming a certified City school teacher is an arduous process requiring at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education; a Master’s is preferred. It’s both time-consuming and expensive. But there are other ways of serving the student population and being fulfilled every day you go to work.
State schools need more than just teachers. The Department of Education is hiring smart, capable individuals to be teachers’ assistants and teachers’ aides. The same opportunities also exist with private schools, religious schools, as well as government and shelter-type institutions. Requirements vary, but it’s always best to be certified.
